EcoVadis
EcoVadis is a sustainability rating platform that scores companies from 0 to 100 on four themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Companies usually get rated because a customer asks for it.
The assessment combines a questionnaire tailored to the company's sector, size and country, the documents uploaded as evidence, and a review of public information (360° Watch). EcoVadis analysts score each theme on policies, actions and results, then compute an overall score.
The result is a scorecard, valid for 12 months, that the company can share with its customers on the platform. Strong results earn a bronze, silver, gold or platinum medal, awarded by percentile rather than by a fixed score.
Most companies first meet EcoVadis through a procurement team: large buyers use it to assess their suppliers, and some write a minimum score or medal into their contracts.
