Émile Maurin: A family-owned business strengthening its CSR strategy with Ditto
Founded in 1871, Émile Maurin is an iconic French company specializing in the supply of assembly products for industry and construction. It is known for its technical expertise in fastening solutions, offering complete and tailored services to its clients. For over 150 years, this family business has evolved with the times without ever losing sight of the values that have enabled it to thrive across generations. Today, it has around 200 employees and is a key player in its sector nationally, across Europe, and internationally.
In a context of increasing demands from major buyers—particularly concerning environmental, social, and ethical performance—Émile Maurin set out to intensify and structure its actions in these areas over time. Driven by strong leadership from upper management, the company aimed to strengthen a CSR approach that was already underway. The goal: to better meet client expectations, solidify its position in compliance-driven markets, and anticipate upcoming regulatory requirements.
Ditto has truly been a key partner - part structured tool, part supportive outside perspective. It helped us gain clarity, lay solid foundations for our CSR approach, and better understand what EcoVadis expects

Challenge
A major challenge: Turning intention into structured strategy
Despite a clear desire to progress, the first steps toward a more mature CSR strategy weren’t easy. The company often found itself alone in navigating the complexity of frameworks, client demands, and evaluation platforms. The process seemed vague, with unclear expectations and few visible levers for progress. Without a dedicated team or deep CSR expertise, each step felt like a roadblock.
Yet the stakes were clear: respond to client demands, build long-term structure, and not miss the regulatory shift coming with CSRD. But with few internal resources and limited visibility on best practices, the need for a CSR co-pilot to clarify and orchestrate the process became increasingly pressing.
Solution
Ditto: The CSR co-pilot that changes everything
In this context, Émile Maurin chose Ditto—not as just another SaaS tool, but as a true CSR and compliance co-pilot. This was a game-changing decision. While other market solutions provided only a technical platform, Ditto stood out by making things concrete, understandable, and actionable—through a clear, step-by-step path supported by engaged human guidance.
Ditto helped the team move from uncertainty to true mastery of the subject. By centralizing documents and structuring policies, reports, and measures in a clear, sequenced way, the co-pilot created strong internal momentum. Users felt guided by the coaches, with a clear vision of what needed to be done, when, and why. It also helped bring visibility to existing efforts that had previously gone unrecognized or poorly documented.
What I particularly appreciated about this partnership was the platform itself, which is a real asset. It's intuitive, easy to use, and saves us valuable time by providing us with templates that already meet EcoVadis' expectations. The artificial intelligence system checked my documents and gave me great reassurance that I wasn't making

Impact
A CSR Trajectory Oriented Toward the Future
The collaboration between Émile Maurin and Ditto is just getting started. Building on the results already achieved, the company is expanding its medium-term structuring projects. It now plans to publish a CSR report aligned with the VSME framework, while also preparing in the background for CSRD compliance by 2028. The platform has already proven effective in handling external questionnaires and will enable the company to confidently tackle other certifications and frameworks in the future.
Moreover, showcasing CSR performance to the sales teams is now seen as a key differentiator in competitive bids. The ability to provide concrete proof of social and environmental commitments—in a structured and accessible format—opens the door to new growth opportunities.
In this momentum, Ditto will now support Emmanuel Maurin, a group entity, in formalizing its strategy and upcoming EcoVadis evaluation. This new phase of the partnership aims to scale CSR structuring globally, with a consolidated vision across the entire group.
The story of Émile Maurin shows that even long-standing industrial companies can successfully transition toward sustainable performance—provided they have the right support. With Ditto as its co-pilot, CSR is no longer a burden or a checkbox exercise, but a powerful, strategic lever: clear, value-creating, and future-oriented. The foundation has been laid, and the outlook is promising. The partnership continues with a shared ambition: to make CSR a pillar of competitiveness, resilience, and positive impact.
Operational, strategic, and commercial impact
The results speak for themselves - tangible and measurable. Within one year, Émile Maurin not only structured its entire CSR approach but also presented its commitments credibly and consistently to clients.
Operationally, more than 10 hours were saved just on updating or drafting strategic documents. Sorting through measurement data - previously a tedious, time-consuming task- is now much smoother, saving up to 4 hours. Reporting, once daunting, has become a clear, centralized task, with well-defined themes and clearer distribution of responsibilities.
Beyond productivity gains, the business impact is even more significant. Thanks to this structured approach and consistent EcoVadis evaluation, the company was able to maintain a strategic commercial relationship with a major client. This partnership—crucial for the company’s business—could have been jeopardized without a strong and credible CSR approach. The improvement in ESG performance also enhanced the company’s brand image and reinforced stakeholder trust.
The tool also transformed how teams engage with the topic.
“When you're deep in the reporting, it’s super useful,” Camille Bernard noted, referring to the progress-tracking tab. The clarity brought by Ditto created a sense of control and shared confidence - so much so that CSR is no longer carried by one person alone, but embedded into the day-to-day work of several team members.
The solution has strengthened our positioning with our clients and partners, particularly those who place great importance on CSR criteria. This has allowed us to strengthen our credibility and demonstrate our commitment to sustainability. In terms of revenue, although the direct impact is not immediately quantifiable, I am convinced that this approach will have a long-term effect by strengthening our attractiveness and opening the way to new markets, particularly
