Business and context

Quito is the parent company of the ECS Group, an international air freight player with more than 1,500 employees in some sixty countries.

Before adopting Beavir, Quito already had numerous elements in terms of CSR compliance, legal issues, information security and the environment. In particular, the company is ISO 27001 certified. However, the structuring and formalization of its CSR strategy remained a major challenge. A comprehensive framework was lacking to standardize policies, centralize and structure evidence, define clear action plans, and effectively involve all teams. The arrival of Laurence Sauphanor as Chief Sustainability Officer two years ago marked a desire to accelerate this structuring.

The challenge: to structure and make the CSR strategy actionable

The initial objective of the adoption of Beavir by Quito was on the EcoVadis evaluation, in order to move forward more quickly on this approach. Quito generally had all the elements requested by EcoVadis, which were already collected as part of its ESG reporting for Naxicap and in the context of the CSRD, for which the company was working in parallel with its compliance. However, some elements were missing, especially on HR aspects, due to the absence of HRIS. However, a transitional system has been put in place in order to make up for this lack and to guarantee the completeness of the data for the next report.

Moreover, although numerous CSR actions were already in place within the group, their formalization and proof remained subject to improvement. Structuring policies and identifying priority issues were crucial steps in making the CSR strategy more effective and operational.

The impact of Beavir was quick and tangible. In less than six months, Quito was able to structure its CSR management system and calmly prepare for its first EcoVadis assessment. This advance had a direct impact on its business:

  • Better internal visibility on CSR maturity and areas for improvement
  • A clear roadmap promoting greater team involvement
  • A strategic alignment that allows us to join the momentum encouraged by major customers such as DHL or investors such as Naxicap

Perspectives: an evolving collaboration

With regard to the continuation of support with Beavr, ways to improve the system have already been identified.
