CDP
Formerly Carbon Disclosure Project
CDP is a non-profit that runs the global environmental disclosure system. Companies answer a questionnaire on climate change, water security and forests, and receive a score from A to D-, or F if they were asked and did not respond.
Companies disclose through CDP at the request of investors or of large customers, which use CDP's supply chain program to collect data from their suppliers. Since 2024, CDP uses a single integrated questionnaire, aligned with the IFRS S2 climate standard.
Scores run through four levels: disclosure (D), awareness (C), management (B) and leadership (A), each with a minus variant. A score rewards both the completeness of the answers and the maturity of the practices behind them: governance, emissions measurement across scopes 1, 2 and 3, targets and verification.
