Sustainability questionnaire
CSR or ESG questionnaire
A sustainability questionnaire is a set of questions a customer, investor or bank sends a company about its environmental, social and governance practices, usually with evidence to attach. EcoVadis and CDP are the standardized versions; many large buyers also send their own.
The questions repeat from one questionnaire to the next: policies, certifications, greenhouse gas emissions, health and safety, ethics, supplier management. What changes is the wording, the format and the evidence asked for.
The efficient approach is to build one up-to-date base of answers and documents, then reuse it. For suppliers with 1,000 employees or fewer, the value-chain cap set by the Voluntary Standard (VS, formerly VSME) limits what a CSRD-subject customer can require.
