Company
WÜRTH France, the French subsidiary of a world leader in fasteners
WÜRTH France is the French subsidiary of the family-owned German Würth Group. It sells products, systems and services to professionals in construction, automotive, industry and maintenance for their fastening, assembly, installation, upkeep and repair needs. From its headquarters in Erstein, the company relies on 4,000 employees and more than 240 Würth stores.
With Ditto, we gained in method, clarity and our ability to rally teams around a shared goal: making our sustainability program a concrete, measurable and recognized performance.

Challenges
Evidence expected by key accounts and public buyers
WÜRTH France's key account customers expect their suppliers to provide reliable, comparable and up-to-date information on their sustainability performance. In tenders, especially public ones, sustainability criteria carry growing weight in how bids are assessed.
WÜRTH France's sustainability program already exists: it is driven by many teams and built on concrete actions. The challenge is to make it legible, centralize solid evidence and better demonstrate the results achieved.
The EcoVadis assessment covers a very broad scope: environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. At WÜRTH France, the relevant information is spread across several departments and functions. That means organizing a collective effort, setting priorities and building a consistent file. The goal goes beyond the assessment: building a lasting evidence system that serves the company's sustainability roadmap, so the team never starts from scratch each year.
Solution
A platform and a coach to structure the evidence
WÜRTH France relies on Ditto for two things: a platform that centralizes evidence from every department and a coach with deep EcoVadis expertise. What Jean-Baptiste Torres values first is a structured, pragmatic approach.
1. A clear starting point
The work began with a careful review of WÜRTH France's situation, its existing documents and the assessment's expectations. This step made it possible to separate the actions already in place, the evidence to formalize better and the areas for improvement to tackle first.
2. One platform for every department
The Ditto platform centralizes documents, indicators and contributions from all stakeholders. Everyone understands what is expected, finds what they need and contributes more effectively. Follow-up is simpler and answers are stronger.
3. A coach who challenges every piece of evidence
The Ditto coach challenges the relevance of each piece of evidence, prepares the team for changes to EcoVadis and helps translate operational actions into the language the assessment expects.
4. A team that grows more autonomous every year
The support combines methodological expertise with skills transfer: the team gradually becomes more autonomous, within a framework that stays demanding.
Getting support makes us more efficient, helps us better understand the methodological expectations and lets us focus our efforts on priorities.

Impact
From Bronze to Silver in two cycles
WÜRTH France's progress reflects the work of its teams:
- 2024: 63/100, Bronze medal
- 2025: 74/100, Silver medal
- 2026: 75/100, Silver medal
For Jean-Baptiste Torres, going from 63 to 75 points reflects a better-structured program and a stronger ability to prove it. Beyond the score, the organization has changed: evidence is more visible, action plans are better managed and contributing teams are more engaged. The Silver medal, earned in 2025 and confirmed in 2026, is encouraging recognition. It is not an end in itself: it gives an objective basis for prioritizing the next steps.
Beyond the score, a tool to manage sustainability
For WÜRTH France, the value of EcoVadis lies first in how it connects commitments, actions, tracking indicators and results. It is a useful framework to assess the maturity of the sustainability program and identify levers for progress.
The assessment's feedback feeds into the company's sustainability roadmap. It helps target the actions to take, strengthen the formalization of certain processes and deepen collaboration with key functions on environmental, social, ethical and procurement topics.
EcoVadis, an asset in tenders and with key accounts
A recognized EcoVadis assessment builds trust with key account customers. It eases discussions with their procurement and sustainability teams and helps WÜRTH France answer supplier qualification questionnaires more efficiently.
In tenders, especially public ones, the EcoVadis score does not replace the documents required for each bid. It adds credibility: it shows a structured program, assessed by a third party and committed to continuous improvement.
Centralizing our indicators, policies and evidence with Ditto helps us produce more consistent, faster and better-supported answers.

Next step: the Gold medal in 2027
WÜRTH France is aiming for the EcoVadis Gold medal in 2027. That ambition is about more than a score: the priority is to turn the areas for improvement into concrete, tracked and documented actions. To get there, the company is continuing to roll out its sustainability roadmap, strengthening how it demonstrates results and embedding its practices further into operations. With Ditto, it keeps centralizing its evidence, tracking its action plans, keeping documents up to date and preparing for upcoming assessments. Ditto helps it structure its work, showcase the initiatives already underway and stay on course for its 2027 goal.
Jean-Baptiste Torres's advice to any company preparing its assessment: treat EcoVadis as a collective project to manage sustainability, not a one-off documentation exercise. In his view, the quality of the result depends as much on the company's actual practices as on its ability to formalize, measure and demonstrate them. Success depends above all on the involvement of internal teams.
